P and O is the world's oldest cruise company, starting passenger shipping operations in 1822 on the routes connecting England with Iberia. We did an excursion called Baker’s Paradise and Waffles which was 4 hours and a great choice. We had been to Stavanger before, so it is a nice port to walk around and the cathedral worth a visit as well as the side streets with the pretty wooden houses.
Specialty Dining Restaurants on P&O Britannia
You can’t see the daily planner either, a simple link to a PDF copy would keep people happy. When we were seated we were offered a choice of multicoloured breads with flavoured butters and we chose ourselves a bottle of wine whilst we perused the menu. The Glass House overlooks the atrium from Deck 7 and serves up small, tapas style, plates. The cuisine is very international, from scotch eggs to tempura, and steaks to Sicilian stew. Each course has a recommended wine, or as mentioned earlier, you can choose a flight of wines to accompany your meal. Preferring a more relaxed a la carte breakfast we ate in The Meridian Restaurant on two out of our three mornings.
Sister Ships
Tea and coffee is free of charge on P&O Britannia except specialty teas and coffees from Costa Coffee. There is tea and coffee making facilities in your cabin, which are replenished daily. Each guest aged 18 years (21 years in US ports) and older is allowed bring up to 1 litre of wine, Champagne, beer, spirit, or liqueur on board as they embark the ship for the first time only. A drinks package may be worth purchasing for your Britannia cruise but be aware that drinks packages are not available to purchase on short cruises.

The Beach House menu has vegetarian options and limited vegan options so it can be enjoyed by all preferences. It can get very busy but signage at the entrances indicates peak times to avoid. The bathroom has the addition of a bath with the shower head over it, I think this is a luxury that many would be happy to pay extra for. Pool towels are already in your cabin when you arrive so that you can use them on the ship or at the beach. Britannia has a normal operating capacity of 3,647 guests and 1,350 crew.

This is best described as outfits you would wear to a nice restaurant. Smart dark denim can be worn with a nice top or open neck shirt. The main dining rooms all offer the same menu, which changes each night. There are plenty of dining options on P&O Britannia, with complimentary and specialty restaurants to choose from.
Live Lounge was home to the onboard band, Pulse, who blew me away with their excellent covers of well known songs split into three themed nights. A separate space is also available to the guests for dance lessons, night clubs, film bars, a gym and an arena for short tennis, cricket or football games. The Live Lounge hosts tribute acts, live bands and stage performances by singers during the day and it transforms into a nightclub in the evening. Similarly, the Crystal Room hosts evening shows, such as cabaret and live music, and transforms into a dance venue at night.

Note that even though this ship is family friendly and has a more relaxed vibe -- formal still means full black tie in the public rooms. Britannia might break many of P&O Cruises' traditions, but dress code still rules -- and that also applies to older children. The ship is not showy (except perhaps in the atrium); it's all about understated luxury.
Britannia has 1,836 cabins for up to 3,647 passengers and has 1,350 crew. This venue also hosts talks and demonstrations from special guests, musical performances and even game shows. Keep an eye on the Horizon newspaper on board to see what’s on each day.

P&O UK announces new Scandinavia & Baltic Sea cruise itineraries 2024
The overriding colour scheme throughout is nautical blues and creams, soft greys and touches of gold and silver. Stand-out features include the stunning three-tier atrium complete with a star burst sculpture made from shards of aluminium and bathed in coloured light. P&O Britannia itinerary program is based on homeporting in Southampton England and Bridgetown Barbados. Follows the complete list of Britannia lounges, clubs and other entertainment venues for kids, teens, and adults. P&O Cruises is a subsidiary company and two brands owned by Carnival Corporation - P&O UK and P&O Australia. In 2000, P&O Cruises became subsidiary of P&O Princess Cruises, which merged with Carnival Corporation in 2003.
I’m not being hyperbolic when I say that this was hands down the best meal I’ve ever had on a cruise, and close to the best meal I’ve ever had – period. The service was attentive and friendly without being too much, the space was upscale whilst still being comfortable and the food was simply divine. If you’re sailing P&O I’d heartily recommend you treat yourself to The Epicurean. The Epicurean is P&O’s top-tier specialty dining experience and it certainly lives up to its reputation.
On February 22, 2015, the vessel was delivered at the Fincantieri Monfalcone shipyard. Click deck pictures to go to individual cruise deck plan pages where you can see all the public areas, venues and stateroom cabins categories for each deck. Our first impression of the cabin, sadly, was that it seemed unloved and needed some t.l.c and a good re vamp. In terms of our cabin space Britannia seems to be showing her age and we came away feeling that P&O need to invest in some refurbishment. The settee was frayed and the furniture on the balcony had both seats ripped and coming away from the frame.
It will be stored safely for you and returned by the final evening of your cruise. There are two main pools on the Lido Deck, an adult-only pool in the Serenity area, a small terrace pool on the Sun Deck and an indoor hydrotherapy pool in the Spa. On Gala Evenings and Black Tie Nights you should wear something special. Typically on P&O Cruises, passengers choose to dress very formally with black being the overriding choice for many. The good news is that the launderettes found on the cabin decks are free to use, all you need is washing tablets. Check my complete P&O laundry guide for all the information you need.
The dishes came out as they were ready, and with the possible exception of the beef salad (which felt more like a stir-fry without rice or noodles) everything was excellent. I opted for lobster, as I do any time it’s on offer, and my companion went for the Beef Tenderloin. The half lobster was well cooked and the Mornay sauce was rich, the creamed potatoes were perfectly smooth – unfortunately the greens were cool to the touch and limp. The beef tenderloin was served medium-rare as requested, the jus was rich, the cauliflower delightful – but again limp and cool greens. Plenty for two adults to move around and co-exist without getting in each others way.
